50th Birthday Party in Hotham with a Swing!
I was booked for Kevin's 50th Birthday party to be held at the Hotham Arms in East Yorkshire. Lovely guy who I think saw me initially at Betty's.
The Hotham arms was a new venue for me, but on arrival it turned out to be a stunning.
Joe the Chef was very accommodating & sorted me out with some space in the restaurant..The plan was that I was to play music from 5pm and unusually, do three sets from 7pm once the main course had been served. This was a specially tailored package for Kevin as there was no other entertainment.
Between 5-7pm I was treated to some of Chef Joe's wonderful food, normally I might just have a sandwich but this was too good to refuse!
The party was in full swing & things got a bit behind (as they often do) so my first set started around 7.30pm. I stuck to some Rat Pack classic swing at this point including my favourite Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Nat King Cole songs. Thereafter I started to ramp it up & finished with a full floor of people dancing to Motown, sixties and the like. Concluding with the national anthem of course.. New York!
I'd highly recommend the Hotham Arms for a private function, of just a meal. The food is lovely and it has a country pub feel to it.
Thanks to the staff there and to Kevin's guests for getting involved & having fun. Also thanks to Kevin who gave me a lovely Review which you can read, along with lot's of others, by clicking on the link...
