Richard Daniels is one of the Norths Premier Wedding Singers.  His cool blend of sophistication and professionalism are perfect for Wedding entertainment, Corporate Event Entertainment and Party Entertainment.

Born in Leeds, Richard is passionate about music and has a wide & varied taste.  However swing music is his real obsession – on hearing ‘Live at The Sands’ for the first time, recorded by Sinatra in 1962 with the Count Basie & his Orchestra, Richard’s love of classic swing was ignited.

When Richard first turned professional singer, Big Band/Swing music was the obvious choice, with the emphasis on Frank Sinatra standards along with songs associated with Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jnr, Bobby Darin, Andy Williams, Nat King Cole among others.  Additionally Richard sang songs made famous by more contemporary artists such as Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jnr and many of the songs on Robbie Williams album ‘Swing When You’re Winning’.

Favourites of Richard’s are ‘Come Fly With Me’, You Make Me Feel So Young’, ‘ Mack The Knife’, ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’, ‘Mr Bo-Jangles’, ‘Fly Me To The Moon’, ‘Have You Met Miss Jones’…… the list goes on!

The swing genre crosses all divides, whatever background or age, everyone loves swing. Richards’s easy style and smooth vocals are perfect for it.

Richard is always learning new material and in recent times he has added some wonderful dance floor fillers to his repertoire from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.  These popular songs include ‘Saturday Night at The Movies’, ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’, ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’, ‘Pretty Woman’ and include songs from artists like Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles and many more.  These are great for an evening set when an audience are up for some serious dancing!

Backing music

As Richard is passionate about his work, the music is extremely important. Backing music has been painstakingly collected to ensure that the sound is the most authentic.  Whether it be swing / big band or 60′s to 80′s songs, all using live instruments during the recording of the tracks.

Richard can also perform some swing/jazz with a live pianist for a really smooth atmosphere.  The piano & pianist are supplied!
